Vision Statement
We, the Pope John XXIII Institute for Church Renewal and Development, envision a new parish paradigm, as the basic element in implementing the Pope’s call to “aggiornamento”. This parish model is built around the family and is adaptable and replicable for all ages, cultures and geographic regions. Basic structures would remain the same in every parish, to insure continuity when pastors are transferred or families move into different communities.
We envision this new Church paradigm to be Trinity Centered and driven by the Mission of Jesus: to proclaim the Kingdom of Heaven and make disciples of people of all nations. The family, described by the Second Vatican Council, as the domestic Church, is the basic foundation for building this “new” community of disciples.
We envision the Institute as a leader in the development of those “tools” required for the implementation of this “new wineskin”, this new paradigm of being a Parish and Diocese of the Twenty-first Century and beyond.

Governing Values
1) Christian: We follow the Teachings of Jesus Christ, as understood and lived by the Catholic Church.
2) Trinity Centered: Our Institute is grounded in the belief that God is a Trinity of Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
3) Communio: Our Faith, Hope and Love binds us together in a fellowship, that is expressed and reflected in all we think, say and do. The celebration of the Eucharist is our source and summit of our unity.
4) The Domestic Church: The Family, whether single or married, large or small, is the essential building block of the local Church and Parish.
5) Mission Driven: Fostering the Mission of Jesus is the heart of our focus.
6) Clock Building: Programs that Parishes and Dioceses’ design with our assistance are encouraged to be freestanding and not dependent upon the Institute for future existence and implementation. Parishes and Dioceses are however encouraged to continue to seek assistance as the needs arise.
7) Preserve the Core and stimulate Progress: The basic beliefs of our Catholic Faith are non-negotiable, however, the way we express and live them, need to be updated for and applied to each generation.
